The E3D scaler tip is used to remove calcification and any bad filling material in the pulp cavity or pulp chamber. It is diamond-coated for enlarging the root canal and accessing files broken in the root canal. Don't touch the broken file when enlarging the root canal in case you put it deeper in the canal.
